Some useful GrADS scripts (in utils/grads):¶

Plotting routines:¶

• plotskew.gs: plots a Skew-T diagram (updated: 2 October 2009)
• plotskew_old.gs: if you are using an old version of GrADS (before v1.8), you will have to use this older version of plotskew.gs
• mtn.gs: draws underlying terrain on vertical cross sections
• nowrad.gs: a popular color scheme for reflectivity

Scripts to calculate derived variables:¶

• t.gs: calculates temperature
• td.gs: calculates dewpoint temperature
• the.gs: calculates equivalent potential temperature
• rho.gs: calculates density
• rh.gs: calculates relative humidity wrt water
• rhi.gs: calculates relative humidity wrt ice
• dbz.gs: calculates reflectivity
• cref.gs: calculates composite reflectivity
